The Company which was founded in 1878 was privately owned until 2005 when it was acquired by Wyngleby Ltd.

Harkers Engineering, in recent years, has manufactured large and complex, machined components and sub-assemblies for the power generation, energy, aerospace and general engineering industries.  The Aerospace Business Unit was established as a stand alone facility in 1998. Aerospace is now the principal manufacturing function.
